2K Games has secured a seasoned producer from Respawn Entertainment to direct the development team at 31st Union, which is currently developing the anticipated third-person roguelike extraction-shooter known as Project Ethos.
Management Change Comes After Lukewarm Feedback
Brinkman takes on the leadership position at 31st Union following the departure of former leader the ex-Sledgehammer Games executive, who was removed from his post due to Project Ethos' lackluster initial reveal last autumn.
On Wednesday, 2K president a key figure notified team members about this decision through an internal memo, which highlighted that playtesting had shown the requirement for a clearer vision.
The president stated that the team is now overhauling the project with a renewed approach, aiming to address gamer demands.
A Pattern of Strategic Recruitment
The news mirrors a similar move taken by 2K Games in August, when they recruited Rod Fergusson from Blizzard to contribute to the BioShock development group.
